What we do...
Forty-one years ago, in a modest University of Oregon area house-turned-office, Direction Service was founded with a desire and a dream: To provide a place where people with disabilities and special needs would be treated with respect, dignity, and compassionate care, regardless of situation.

Today, Direction Service continues that legacy of service as a multi-program family support nonprofit located in Springfield, Oregon. Serving all of Lane County, we are now an independent, private, nonprofit organization funded through public and private donations, as well as local and federal support.

A Message from Aimee
2018 is off to a great start! Direction Service has an exciting year in the works and we can't wait to share the developments with you.

First, we are honored to provide Wraparound services to residents of the new St. Vincent de Paul Youth House. This house will provide shelter and secure housing for thirteen homeless young women ages 16-18, at a time. Direction Service will provide services to help improve youth outcomes and increase their chances for graduation and success!

Second, Direction Service has partnered with The Craft House to help raise funds during the months of February and March. $2 of each registration fee for The Craft House workshops will be donated to Direction Service. We are very grateful to The Craft House owner, Jennifer Sheffler, for her continuing commitment to improving the lives of those in the Direction Service Community.

Finally, we are thrilled to announce our 3rd annual Night of Family Fun at PK Park with the Eugene Ems. Tickets for this August 18, 2018 event are on sale now! August 18 is Star Wars night, so be sure to bring the whole family! Mark your calendars, and stay tuned for more details!

As always, our dedicated staff and Board of Directors continue to work hard to carry out our mission: Helping people with disabilities and special needs live full and healthy lives!

Thanks, again, for your continuing support! We look forward to keeping in touch with you!

Introducing our new monthly giving program: Direction Forward!
Since 1976, Direction Service has had a single and clear defining mission: Helping people with disabilities and special needs live full and healthy lives.

Today, we continue that legacy by introducing our new monthly giving program, Direction: Forward!.

Direction: Forward! is an opportunity to support the youths and families we serve by making convenient, incremental donations once per month.

Forty-one years of individual donations have helped to develop and sustain vital Direction Service programs, many of which are available to youth and families at no cost to them. Direction: Forward! is another avenue towards progress that will help those we serve find pathways toward happiness, stability, safety, and success.
