What we do...
Forty-one years ago, in a modest University of Oregon-area house-turned-office, Direction Service was founded with a desire and a dream: To provide a place where people with disabilities and special needs would be treated with respect, dignity, and compassionate care, regardless of situation.

Today, Direction Service continues that legacy of service as a multi-program family support nonprofit located in Springfield, Oregon. Serving all of Lane County, we are now an independent, private, nonprofit organization funded through public and private donations, as well as local and federal support.

A Message from Aimee
Fall is fast approaching! School is here. Football season is upon us. And of course, our annual fundraiser is just around the corner.

This year, we’re hosting a casino night gala at the UO Ford Alumni Center Ballroom! Proceeds to benefit life-changing Direction Service programs that help people in Lane County with disabilities and special needs live full and healthy lives. Click here to learn more!

Direction Service also recently received coverage in the Eugene Weekly for our Youth Advocacy Program and partnership with the 15th Night Coalition. Our Youth Advocacy Program supports youth who experience homelessness. In concert with our coalition partners, our staff Youth Advocate works one-on-one with youths and helps them to find stability, as well as to develop appropriate supports to improve long-term outcomes. Our 2017 Night of Family Fun at PK Park was a resounding success! With your help, we raised nearly $1,200 in one evening, all-the-while cheering on our Eugene Ems on a perfect summer night at the ballpark. Click here to visit our Facebook page for photos from the event.

As always, our dedicated staff and Board of Directors continue to work hard to carry out our mission: Helping people with disabilities and special needs live full and healthy lives!

Thank you for your continuing support!
