For over 42 years, Direction Service has provided support to youth and families throughout Lane County, including access to individual and family counseling from our Counseling Center, educational support and Wraparound Facilitation from Youth and Family Services, or conflict resolution technical assistance from CADRE (The National Center for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education). We want you to know that while CADRE receives its funding from the Department of Education and the Counseling Center is funded through fee for service payments from various insurance providers, our Youth and Family Services Program is dependent upon grants and donations.

Since the beginning of this school year our Youth and Family Services program has seen a sharp increase in the number of families seeking advocacy within the school system, and have established a waiting list to manage this significant demand. Asking families to wait for help is so difficult for us as we love helping families and believe this assistance should be available to them when they ask for it.

On average, 15% of the students in our local schools experience a disability. The word disability could be referencing a developmental delay, behavior challenges, mental health challenges, a diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum, a chronic health condition, or a physical disability. For each of these students, their parents or caregivers must navigate systems that are often overwhelming and confusing just to ensure their children have what they need to achieve success. We desperately need your help to ensure we can be there to partner with every youth and family who reach out for our help!

Please make a gift to help local youth and families today!

Please note: Requests for refund of donation will be honored if Direction Service receives written notification within fifteen (15) days after the donation is processed.

Introducing our new monthly giving program!

Since 1976, Direction Service has had a single and clear defining mission: Helping people with disabilities and special needs live full and healthy lives.

Today, we continue that legacy by introducing our new monthly giving program, Direction: Forward!

Direction: Forward! is an opportunity to support the youth and families we serve by making convenient, incremental donations once per month.

Forty-one years of individual donations have helped to develop and sustain vital Direction Service programs, many of which are available to youth and families at no cost to them.

Direction: Forward!
is another avenue towards progress that will help those we serve find pathways toward happiness, stability, safety, and success.
